With the traditional Fasiangy season in full swing, Canadian Slovaks and their friends are partying all across Canada. In Calgary, this year's theme was Hunters Ball. There are several hunters in our community and their impressive real trophies decorated the walls. But at this party everybody hunted for good time, great food, super music, and being with true fiends.The main course of Bison meat in cream sauce with cramberries and all the trimmings was delcious, as only the best chef in the city, Paul Hebelka can prepare. And among the door prices was a bottle of real Bošácka slivovica that the winner graciously sampled with friends.
Branch 65 of the Canadian Slovak League, which organized the event will use the proceeds to support community activity in Calgary, contribute to organizing activities for children, and to maintain the Slovak mass at regular intervals.
