Slovak community in this charming Southern Ontario city is in transition. Although the Slovak community in Sarnia has rich and active tradition, with the passage of time older organizers cannot do everything, and new generations have not yet stepped-up to continue organizing the community and its activities. After a loss of the Slovak Church, regular events have ceased.Still active is the 17. Branch of CSL in Sarnia, President is Peter Molcan.
We hope that Slovak activities in Sarnia will soon resume, and we appeal on younger generations to step in and carry on with the successful traditions of Slovaks in Sarnia. We welcome articles and photographs from your events in the past, so that they would be preserved for history and for our children and grandchildren.
