St. Valentine's day celebrates love and the closest and dearest people who make our lives so enjoyable. Slovaks in Calgary are a great community of good people, so why celebrate Valentine's day individually when we can get all together and have a great party? As usual, many came also from outside of our community and many friends from the Czech community faithfully support Slovak events for years.Slovak parties have such a good reputation that even the multicultural television channel OMNI TV came to film our get together. They were much impressed, especially with the Slovak folk group Slnečnica that started the party with a short performance. We will post the link to OMNI archive after their Magazine program is broadcast. Cultural program was followed by a great dinner, prepared by a famous chef Pavel Hebelka from the Royal Canadian Legion in Calgary, and then DJ Juraj Fabian kept the crowd dancing unti the wee hours in the morning.
Valentine's party was organized by Branch 65 of the Canadian Slovak League.
