On Saturday, November 21st in Calgary was the largest Slovak social event of the year - already the 42nd Katarínska party. Slovaks celebrate Name Days just as much as Canadians celebrate Birthdays, and Catherine is one of the most popular. All 200 tickets were sold out long before, thus The Slovak Club in Calgary, which organized this fun party, will need next year to seek a greater hall.
Special presentation provided Slovak dance and music ensemble Slnečnica and after an excellent dinner, mostly young audience rocked and discoed until the vee hours of the morning.
To all Catherines, Cathys, Katys, Catharines and Katies in Canada and Slovakia, Happy Name Day from Calgary!
