On the feast of the Body of Christ, processions around the church are held in many churches in Slovakia. The feast has been celebrated since year 1264.
The faithful in the Slovak Roman Catholic parish of St. Cyril and Method in Mississauga also celebrated this liturgical solemnity of the gift of the Eucharist with a procession that stopped at the four outer altars symbolizing the four corners of the world. The children, in the sign of reverence and love for God, sprouted before the monstrance petals of flowers.
It is a welcome opportunity in our busy material world and life to reflect on the spiritual traditions that are also very important to the meaning of our lives.
